Care & Feeding of Your New Sewing Machine

$20 or free w/ machine purchase
This is a hands-on class covering topics such as: basic machine maintenance, tension adjustment, choosing the correct needle, thread, and foot for your quilting or sewing project,and setting up your work area for your project. The class is free to those who purchased a Janome sewing machine from Fourth Corner Quilts and have had their machine operator one-on-one instruction. An additional day time class is available Wednesday, February 22 from 11:00-12:30 pm.

We'll cover fabric selection, rotary cutting techniques, piecing, creating blocks, quilt top assembly, adding borders, making a quilt sandwich, machine quilting and binding. One Block Wonders Cubed, Part 2

Use one fabric, one shape, and make a one-of-a-kind quilt! One piece of fabric does all the work, creating kaleidoscope blocks from 60-degree triangles. This is a serendipitous approach to design and a forgiving sewing process. The first class session covered the cutting and construction of the block, and the February 25th class focuses on quilt design and adding optional cubes.

Basic Machine Quilting

In this class Jo will cover the basics of machine quilting. You will learn how to use a walking foot to stitch in the ditch as well as how to use a darning foot to do free motion quilting. You will learn several methods to mark a quilt and how to use pre-cut stencils and tissue paper. Jo will discuss the use of various types of thread, needles and batting. What are you waiting for, finish all those UFO's!
