Pumpkin Seeds for Haiti

10:30am - 3:30 pm $60 -100% donation
Come make a Pumpkin Seeds lap size quilt using Quiltsmart's preprinted fusible interfacing panels for fast, yet beautiful results. Class is being offered on Saturday, February 20 and Thursday, March 11. Class fee includes 10 panels, design page, instructions, and the instructor fee. Choose your own fabrics. All of class fee will be donated to the Red Cross to assist with earthquake relief in Haiti. Come learn a new technique with the printed interfacing panels and raise money for a good cause, too. Additional panels can be purchased to make larger quilts.

Basic Machine Quilting

In this class Jo will cover the basics of machine quilting. You will learn how to use a walking foot to stitch in the ditch as well as how to use a darning foot to do free motion quilting. You will learn several methods to mark a quilt and how to use pre-cut stencils and tissue paper. Jo will discuss the use of various types of thread, needles and batting. What are you waiting for, finish all those UFO's!

Smooth Sailing Tour

Join us for the Tri-County Smooth Sailing Tour. We’ll leave Bellingham early and start at Keepsake Cottage Fabrics in Bothell. We’ll work our way north with stops at all the Tri County Quilt Merchants shops in Snohomish and Skagit. We'll lunch in Stanwood. Tour price includes round trip transporation and lunch.

Black and White Fabric Swap

This is an opportunity to expand your stash of black and white fabrics. You can gather fabrics to complete our Smooth Sailing quilt or for another black and white fabric project. Bring 8 fat quarters, some predominately black on white and some predominately white on black. Participants will swap in class and take home 8 fat quarters and some ideas for black and white quilts.

Fabric Covered Clothesline Trivets and Coasters

In this class Sue teaches you two different fabric wrapping techniques with clothesline to make coasters and trivets. You will learn the skills needed for larger projects such as the rug pictured, baskets or fabric plates. Kit includes batik fabric in two different width strips, package of clothesline, sewing machine needle, and thread. Projects not suitable for traveler weight machines. Sewing machine rental available.

Food Fabric Swap

Dig into your stash for vegetable, fruit or other food fabrics and bring six inch squares to swap. April 22nd is Earth Day so think healthy! The squares would be perfect for an I spy quilt for object recognition for a child or an adult with memory loss.
