Hand Embroidery for Crazy Quilts

In this class you will make a sweetheart sachet an d learn decorative embroidery stitches commonly used on crazy quilts. Decorative stitches will include fern, leaf, chevron, feather, chained feather, satin, lazy daisy, fly, and spiderweb. Muslin will be provided for practicing the stitches. You will receive a pattern for a paper pieced heart to make prior to class to add your decorative stitches to during class. The Friday class is in the evening from 5:30 - 7:30 pm.

Getting to Know Your Sewing Machine

Bring your sewing machine and we'll help you get c omfortable using it. This is a hands-on class covering topics such as: basic threading, bobbin winding, tension adjustment, basic machine maintenance, choosing the right stitches, basic feet and accessories and when to use them, picking the right thread, choosing your needle, and setting up your work area for your project. The class is free to those who purchased a Janome sewing machine from Fourth Corner Quilts. An evening class is planned for May.

Pumpkin Seeds for Haiti

Come make a Pumpkin Seeds lap size quilt using Qui ltsmart's preprinted fusible interfacing panels for fast, yet beautiful results. Class is being offered on Saturday, February 20 and Thursday, March 11. Class fee includes 10 panels, design page, instructions, and the instructor fee. Choose your own fabrics. All of class fee will be donated to the Red Cross to assist with earthquake relief in Haiti. Come learn a new technique with the printed interfacing panels and raise money for a good cause, too. Additional panels can be purchased to make larger quilts.
